Effective 21 July 2026. This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs how everyone uses the YeboWork platform (the website, apps and services operated by Yebowork (Pty) Ltd, "YeboWork", "we", "us"). It applies to all users — both buyers (people requesting services) and service providers ("pros"). It forms part of, and must be read with, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. By using YeboWork you agree to this Policy.
1. Who may use YeboWork
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract.
- You must provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself and, where you offer services, about your business.
- Service providers must complete our identity verification (and, where applicable, business verification) before offering or accepting work. You may not create an account using another person's identity or a false identity.
- One person or business operates under one genuine account. Do not create duplicate, fake or bot accounts, and do not share or sell your account.
2. What YeboWork is for
YeboWork connects buyers with local service providers for lawful in-person services (such as plumbing, electrical, cleaning and gardening) and digital services (such as design, writing and web work). It is a venue that facilitates introductions, agreements, communication and payment between independent parties. YeboWork is not the employer of any provider and does not itself perform the services listed.
3. Acceptable use — everyone
You agree to:
- Use YeboWork only for genuine, lawful service transactions.
- Give honest information in your profile, listings, quotes, job posts and reviews.
- Communicate respectfully and honour the agreements you make with the other party.
- Keep your login details secure and take responsibility for activity on your account.
4. Prohibited conduct
You may not, and may not allow anyone else to:
- Break the law or use YeboWork to offer, request, arrange or facilitate anything illegal, unsafe or that you are not licensed or qualified to provide (for example, electrical or plumbing work requiring a Certificate of Compliance done by an unregistered person).
- Offer prohibited services, including anything involving weapons, illegal drugs, sexual services, gambling, counterfeit goods, unlicensed financial or medical services, or services that facilitate fraud.
- Defraud or deceive anyone — including misrepresenting your identity, skills, qualifications, pricing or availability, posting fake jobs or reviews, or manipulating ratings.
- Circumvent the platform's protections — for example, pressuring the other party off the platform to avoid fees, verification, records or safety features, in a way intended to defraud or evade YeboWork's rules.
- Abuse payments — attempt chargeback fraud, launder money, use YeboWork to move funds unrelated to a genuine service, or provide bank details that are not your own.
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger any person, or harvest, misuse or publish another person's personal information.
- Harm the platform — introduce malware, scrape or overload our systems, attempt to bypass security, or interfere with other users' use of YeboWork.
- Infringe intellectual property — post or deliver content you do not have the right to use.
- Misuse the credits balance — the YeboWork credits balance is a prepaid platform currency used only to pay YeboWork for platform features (such as lead fees, promotion, advertising and verification). It is not cash, is not withdrawable, and may not be transferred, sold or moved to another user.
5. Verification, trust and safety
Identity verification, real reviews and on-platform records exist to keep the marketplace safe. Attempting to defeat, fake or misuse these (for example, verifying with someone else's identity, or coercing false reviews) is a serious breach of this Policy. Providers must keep any legally required registrations, licences or certificates valid and be truthful about them.
6. Payments and off-platform arrangements
YeboWork offers on-platform payment (processed by our payment provider, with the provider paid their price directly and no funds held by YeboWork), as well as cash and direct EFT arranged between the parties. Payments you choose to make off-platform (cash or direct EFT) are arranged directly between you and are not processed, held or guaranteed by YeboWork. Do not use YeboWork to solicit off-platform payment in order to commit fraud or evade these rules.
7. Reporting and enforcement
If you see conduct that breaches this Policy, report it through the platform or to our support channel. We may investigate, request further information, and — at our discretion and depending on severity — issue warnings or strikes, remove content, limit features, suspend or permanently ban accounts, reverse or refund transactions where possible, and report unlawful conduct to the relevant authorities. Serious or repeated breaches can result in immediate removal without notice.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the platform with a revised effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
